I’ve chosen to keep my small television
off the grid I power it by a crank that I keep
out of view near my boots by the door I can’t control it shows
something—it isn’t much of me and is absolutely nothing
of you on the screen we see the sky and what’s below is lost
through oversight things lack afterimage so they don’t move
when I crank them up the voice-over isn’t visible
to the human eye the actor’s just a boy from ROTC in a war.
